Another Blogger Award!

Wow! I can't believe the cats and I won another cool Blogger Award!!! This one is the "One Lovely Blog" given to me by another wonderful Blogger friend of mine, the beautiful Eilis from her blog, "Eilis in Wonderland."!

As with many other Blogger awards, one of the rules of acceptance is that I share 7 things about myself that you might not know. So, here goes!

1) I used to have very low self-esteem up until the time I sang in a band.
2) I used to be agnostic many many years ago, but have been blessed to find what I truly believe in!
3) I LOVE Bassett Hounds and plan to share my home with a female named "Guinevere" someday. LOL!
4) I have always wanted to work with mentally challenged and/or "handi-capable" children and adults.
5) I have "lazy eye" which basically means that sometime after I was born I developed a weak muscle in my left eye. As annoying as it is on pics, it does not affect my vision at all.
6) I was engaged twice before I met my hubby of 11 years - we lived together for seven years prior so actually I count that as about 20 years. ;)

7)  I have never smoked a cigarette a day in my life because I can't stand the smell of smoke!

Well, now on to the second part of the award rules. I must now nominate seven more Bloggers for this award. If I could, I would nominate you ALL!!  Here are my picks:

And there you have it, my friends. Here's wishing everyone a great week until next time!!

Some new stuff!!!

Greetings everyone!!! Hope you all are having a blessed summer. As for me, I am very much looking forward to the Fall season and, of course, MABON!! To help get you into the spirit of things, I have posted my newest cat wreath, "The Four Seasons of the Cat" ...      > ^..^ <

I also added a couple of new items to Haley's catio. Since Mr. Gray no longer needs to "live" downstairs after his tests results came back to us negative for FeLuek, I thought I'd bring up the two pieces of furniture which I had bought for him and give them to Haley. She now has a new bed and kitty condo ...

I think she likes the new look!!!

Speaking of Haley, my hubby found a wonderful little item in, of all places, his Sportsman's Guide magazine! They are sofa/furniture covers with a kind of plastic underneath them. Wanna take a guess why I bought them? Yup, you guessed it, to protect our beautiful new sofa from Haley urinating on it and doing any more damage to it than she already has. The night we put them on, she decided to pee on the couch. Perhaps she felt the need to mark the thing that smelled "different" to her and wasn't there before? Well, after "testing" the new covers we found that THEY WORK WONDERFULLY!!! ...

They are machine washable and come in many different sizes and colors. I highly recommend these for anyone who is having the same problem with a house cat with the same behavior issue.

Wishing ALL a very lovely weeknd!!!!

These may well be the "dog days of summer," but our cats could care less ...

(Kiki-girl showing off her little heart-shaped  marking on her belly!)

Hot, humid one day and raining the next describes our summer so far around here! As far as I am concerned, one of mans' best inventions has been, yep, you guessed it, air conditioning!!!

As for our cats, well they are safe and comfortably content being totally indoor kitties -who could blame them! After all, what a life ...

Needless to say, I CAN'T WAIT for Fall and the Autumn Equinox! Now that's my kind of weather!!!  ^^

Coming together ...

Greetings all! Just a little update on Mr. Gray. He is adapting wonderfully to his new siblings. He still is a bit skittish when we try to touch his head, but he is getting better each week and he is finally beginning to show signs of feeling comfortable in his new role as a house kitty. He has even gotten into his own routines such as following me to bed every night and waking me up in the wee hours of the morning ~ meowing rather loudly to make sure that I do not forget to feed him!!! Although, I do not need to tell you that with four other felines in the house, that is definitely not a possibility!  LOL!

Just catching up!

Mr. Earl Gray

Greetings ALL! Hope everyone has been doing well! I have been extremely busy as of these past few weeks and am only now trying to catch up with both my blogs.

On the home front, I just had my kitty, Kiki, to the vet this past week as she was not eating her dry food very well and had some rather loose stools with some light red blood and mucus in them. The vet drew some blood and gave her a good check over. It appears that she has some pretty bad gingivitis, which would explain her really bad breath. So I scheduled a teeth cleaning for her for this Wednesday.

Ever since we brought our last cat, Mr. Earl Gray, in the house, she has not been herself. She hides out a lot more in the bedroom than usual and she has been acting very "needy" around us which is very unlike her. Even though Mr. Gray is extremely docile and has not once ever bothered her, she is still on the insecure side. The vet said that the potty issues are most likely related to the "new addition" which is upsetting her and so she gave us some meds to help take care of this issue.

As for Mr. Gray, well he is gradually getting adjusted to indoor life and is slowly beginning to trust us. He still keeps pretty much to himself in relation to the other kitties, but he loves when we give him attention and is still doing well.
