I left my heart in Reading, PA
If any of you are followers of my other blog, "The Wiccan Life," then you probably already know that hubby and I are leaving on vacation this week with my in-laws for a little week-long cruise to Ontario, Canada.
Now for the past two years, we have been taking a weeks vacation and upon our return, we have found that our females, Kiki and Haley, appeared basically uninterupted by our leaving them for a few days. My buddy Midnight; however, has always been a different story all together!
I know that he and the other cats will be in very good hands while we are away, yet I still feel rather guilty all the same. You see, Midnight is the only kitty we have ever had who literally "needs" me in his routine on a daily basis. He is more like a dog in many ways as he never fails to greet me at the door when I come home from work (or anywhere for that matter) and he follows me around everywhere I go in the house all of the time. He sleeps on pillow every night and, while cuddled up on top of my head, purrs me to sleep. Who needs a noise maker to be able to relax and go to sleep, eh? Certainly not me ... LOL!
He even patiently lies at my feet every time I am on the computer ~ yes, even right now as I am typing this post he is cuddled loyally by my side on the living room floor. Goddess, how I truly do love and adore that cat!
My hubby and I both do, and we feel so very blessed to have him in our life for we know in hour hearts that we will never, ever have another cat quite as special as Midnight. No sir, like all cats, he is most definitely "one of a kind."

Memories of a Midsummer Past ...
With the beautiful sabbat of Beltane behind us, we can now look
forward to the up-coming Midsummer or Litha to some. As well as essentially
being the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year, this Wiccan holiday
also represents the elaborate celebration of the creatures of the woodlands.
Faeries, gnomes, and even our beloved furr babies are especially invited to
join us in our circles and celebrations at this time of the year!
Pet blessings and protection spells are often performed
during this sabbat ritual because it is the perfect time for them! I always make sure to hang
my homemade God’s Eyes on every door and most particularly in the cat and rabbit's room ...
Here are a few pics from one of our Midsummer
celebrations back a few years ago when my sister Willow and her hubby lived near by and we
decided to get together at her home. Joining us inside the
circle for some play time were her kitties Patchouli, Mystic, and Domino along with one
of my cats at the time named Sabrina, and Willow's two dogs Amber and Cocoa ...
Mystic 'n' Patchouli
Domino
Patchouli and my Maine Coon, Sabrina
Even though I usually hold my rituals downstairs in my
Altar Room, this year I plan to bring my Midsummer celebration upstairs into
the living room so that my "kids" can also be with me to enjoy themselves both during and after the ceremony!

Farewell Donna Summer, Love to Love You Baby!
Sadly, one of my all-time favorite singers whom I especially adored in my teens, passed away earlier this past week at the early age of 63 from lung cancer (although our local news reports originally said that it was breast cancer?). She will always be a "one-of-a-kind" performer with her catchy hits and unmistakable voice which transcended far beyond the Disco years. Songs such as "MacArthur Park," "Hot Stuff," "On the Radio," and "Last Dance" just to name a few were only a mere example of her extradinary talent! I know that she will be greatly missed by so many!
Although I loved ALL of her recordings, I thought that this one would fit this particular blog as it could be said about all cats at heart. It is Donna's 80's remake of the hit song, "The Wanderer."
Here is wishing all a magickal weekend!!!

Gotta love it!
Today, I received a very special e-mail from Neicy's mommy of her youngest daughter, Kaley, with her newest buddy. She told me that, even though Neicy is actually her older daughter, Kylie's kitty, these two have been inseparable ...
LOL!!! I just love these ~ Thanks so much. Britnee-girl!!!

Our crazy cats ...
As you all know, we have three special little kitty cats to share our lives with ~ Kiki, Midnight and Haley. As expected, all three of them have very diverse personalities which makes them extremely interesting for us to say the least!
One of the things about Kiki is that she tends to be what you might call a little "copy cat." Meaning that she seems to mimmick much of the things that Midnight does. I am guessing for two reasons: one, she was born inside of my friend Kiki-girl's home and did not spend enough time with her mother cat to actually "learn" the things that mother cats usually teach their babies, and two, she is highly intelligent and picks up on everything around her! Whether it be words, moods or body language. Here are a few pics of Kiki and Midnight together just to give you some idea of what I am talking about ...

And then there's Haley who likes to do her "chipmunk" imitation ...
Yes, as you can see we have a couple of real-life cartoon cats living among us ~ LOL! We have affectionately nicknamed Kiki and Midnight "the bookends" and Haley, "Munk-cat." ;)

Something Fun for Friday!
Happy Friday all! I thought that I'd post a ccol little game called Picture Word Find. All you have to do is look for 42 different items in the picture and circle the word on the word search part. If you click on the images, you can print them off if you like which makes it a bit easier to play.
I took a couple of Picture Word-Find books along with me last year when we went to Ontario, Canada for a week and I just love these things! To help you all out, tomorrow I will post the list of the items you are supposed to find in the picture. This one is called, "The Witching Hour." Good luck and Blessed Be!!!!
