Greetings my dear friends! I hope that everyone's new year is going well so far. There are actually a couple of changes going on with both my blogs. First off, I am sure that you all have noticed the new look on this blog. It would appear that the free blog background site I was using for the past couple of years has vanished! Therefore, I had no choice but to make a few changes. I hope that you like it.  

Also, for those of you who have been following my other blog, The Wiccan Life, I have decided to ask my long-time and very good friend, Dark Elf, to join me as a co-author. If you would like to read more about it, please click on this link.  :D

We have already begun to get some snowfall here in Pennsylvania and the cats and I are just enjoying hanging out in the house relaxing in the warmth ...

~HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND EVERYONE!~

This and That ...

Greetings, my dear friends and Happy Sunday to you!! Just a little update on our male cat, Leo. As you all know, our vet prescribed amitriptyline, a medication to help with his stress and aggression issues. This medication is not like volume and does not "knock the cat out" as in putting them to sleep so that you do not need to deal with their problems or anything of the like. They may; however, become a bit less playful and/or tad listless if over prescribed.

At first, Leo was "under prescribed" and so Dr. Heather upped his dosage from a half a pill a day to 1/2 in the morning and a whole at night before bed time.  So far, we have seen a huge improvement in his behavior. He is not picking on the other cats near as much as he had been and he is a happier kitty all around. And, quite frankly speaking, so are the rest of us! LOL!

A Sleep Over

Thursday morning while heading out the back catio door to go to work, I was once again greeted by "Miss Fancy Pants" (aka "Trixie"). As always, I left her in the catio and left, knowing that she would be 100 percent safe there until we got home later that afternoon.

After I had gotten to work, I called up her owner and she asked us if we would be willing to keep her overnight and she would then pick her up Friday evening. Of course, we were more than happy to oblige ...

 

She is always such a joy to have as a guest and we absolutely adore her!

Blog Name Change

As I am sure everyone has already taken notice, I have decided to change the name/title of this blog from, "Witch Cats Blog" to "The Cat Cottage." I just felt it more fitting of a name.

This and That ...

Greetings, my friends! Things have been rather busy here as of late. I have been making some additions to the catio, adding a tall kitty condo which I have placed in front of the back window so that the cats may be able to enjoy the view outside. And, I have added a few more nice throw rugs as well ...

 

Last Friday morning while I was walking out the door to go to work, I was greeted by our favorite little neighbor cat, "Miss Fancy Pants" (hubby and I have nicknamed her "Trixie"). As usual, I opened the door and she walked right in. Apparently, once again, she had gotten away from our neighbor lady and she came to see us. We love her visits, although given the fact that we live very close to a major (and extremely busy!) highway we are naturally concerned about her  safety. We kept her in the catio for the remainder of the weekend until her owner came to pick her up. At least we knew that she would not get hurt or stolen while we were at work all day.

Long story short, we drove her back home and the woman told my hubby that she had to babysit out of the area every other weekend and asked us if we would like to catsit "Miss Fancy Pants" for her on the weekends that she was away. She also makes handmade catnip toys and generously sent five beautiful bags home with us for our fur babies ...

Since we enjoy "Fancy Pants" company so very much (and we only live a block away from her owner), we agreed to watch her. She will have everything she needs in the catio and plenty of love and affection. We haven't actually begun watching her as of yet, "Fancy Pants" owner is supposed to contact us next Thursday to confirm. We shall see how things go.
